women and dieting

Women’s Diet and Fitness believes that every woman can achieve a desired body if she believes in herself and works whole-heartedly to achieve a healthy and fit body no matter what comes in her way. These changes will not only benefit her, but also her family.

A healthy diet is even more essential for women than men. women have to cope with debilitating hormone irregularities which can impact adversely on both health and weight.

Women have many issues to consider when choosing healthy lifestyle choices and eating habits. One of these things to consider is Menopause . The symptoms and side-effects of menopause can be bewildering. A healthy diet combined with regular physical exercise really does make a difference.

PMS is another consideration among women and dieting. Stabilizing blood sugar levels helps prevent food and sugar cravings, as well as mood swings associated with PMS. Certain fats, like Omega-3 essential fatty acids from oily fish and certain seeds offer significant health benefits and also help to relieve symptoms of PMS, like inflammation. Symptoms of PMS like weight gain (usually fluid gain) and bloating can be alleviated by eating diuretic-type foods that help to eliminate excess fluid. Paradoxically, drinking extra water also helps.

Pregnancy is but another factor women must consider . During pregnancy, an expectant mother needs extra nutrition. Not only is she eating in order to nourish her unborn baby, but also to nourish herself and compensate for the flow of nutrition across the placenta to the fetus. Experts recommend an average weight gain during pregnancy of about 24 to 35 pounds. This will vary according to your pre-pregnancy weight and the number of babies you are carrying. According to the Institute of Medicine, an underweight woman may be advised to gain up to 40 pounds while an overweight Mom-to-be may be advised to gain just 15 pounds.

So with just these and many more things for women to consider it may be a great challenge for women to maintain a healthy diet as as well as self image. The considerations for women over men when it come to diets surely out number.

Holistic therapies like Yoga and Pilates are a wonder full alternative to maintain a healthy and fit body. Meditations, and affirmations can help with maintaining a healthy self image and confidence.
